The object of play is similar to that of the Rummy card games, due to the presence of groups of tiles called melds that form the “legal”, or winning, hands. The name was coined by J. P. Babcock, who introduced the game to the West after World War I. Our handmade wooden Mahjong game comes with beautifully colored print symbols on the tiles pieces and a wooden box.
