The Succession Contest arc (継(けい)承(しょう)戦(せん)編(へん)()()()()()(), Keishō-sen-hen), also known as the Succession to the Throne arc (王(おう)位(い)継(けい)承(しょう)編(へん)()()()()(), Ōi Keishō-hen) or the Black Whale arc, is the ninth (officially eighth) story arc of the series. After a deathmatch between Chrollo and Hisoka at Heavens Arena, the arc focuses on the voyage of the Black Whale 1 toward the New Continent—a voyage which involves the Zodiacs and Hunter Association escorting Beyond to the Dark Continent
