Descrição

In flight above Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, two snow geese (Anser caerulescens) look for a suitable place to feed. They come to the refuge from hundreds of miles away. Their breeding grounds are above northern Canada and into the Arctic proper. Snow geese are vocal on the ground, on the water and in the air. Their repetitive, single honking call would give a flock of tundra swan stiff competition for noisiest waterfowl.
