Shogi (将棋, Shōgi) is a strategy board game featured as a recurring minigame in the Yakuza series. It was first introduced in the original Yakuza 2. Shogi is a Japanese variant of chess played on a board divided into nine rows ("ranks") and nine columns ("files"), totaling eighty-one squares.
