The Taurus PT92 is a double action/single action, double-stack-magazine fed, short recoil-operated, semi-automatic 9mm pistol manufactured by Taurus. It was originally produced at the former Beretta factory in São Paulo, Brazil as an almost exact copy of the Beretta 92. Despite the many design changes, such as the redesigned slide serrations, thickening of the trigger guard hook and addition of an accessory rail, the Taurus PT92 still retains many of the design elements from the original Beretta
