Chloe Grace Moretz will play the lead role in Working Title and Universal's live-action rendition of The Little Mermaid. In her announcement on Instagram, the Kick Ass actress wrote, "Here it is !! I've been waiting months to tell everyone how excited I am to take on this beautiful journey with Working Title, Universal, and a beautiful script by Richard Curtis.. #TheLittleMermaid !!!! Not much is known yet about the project, but Variety reported that Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually writer, Richard Curtis, is in talks to pen the script. The Hans Christian Anderson tale tells the story of a mermaid who wants to become human after falling for a man she saves from drowning. We can't wait to hear what else is in store for the film.
