Merahlan Onix and Steelix are regional variants native to the Merahla region. Onix is a Rock/Psychic type, while Steelix and its Mega Evolution are Steel/Psychic types. They are based on desert glass. Tinted Lens: The Pokémon can use "not very effective" moves to deal regular damage. Desert Crystal: Doubles Pokémon's attack in a sandstorm. No one is quite sure where or how these variants were formed. It’s speculated they may have fallen from space and an Onix formed around the celestial material
