In the 2000s, the original Pod quickly became the board for surfers around the world, allowing a 6 '' drop to the original board size. This was a revolution. The Pod Mod , an evolution of the original Pod, is designed to be ridden even shorter and wider, offering the surfer a bit more volume to improve their ride on the wave without sacrificing board performance. The tail has been made a little wider, thus improving speed in small waves and the double concave single has been changed to a 'V' shaped concave to favor the rail-to-rail transitions of the board. Experienced surfers surf the Pod Mod between 3 '' and 6 '' below its height. HD-EPS core with epoxy resin 2 x Biaxialcloth: Stronger , lighter and more environmentally friendly than your usual resin board. Carbon torsion : Carbon line at the base of the board that controls the flex of the board and produces a more electric response in the turns. Precision molded: The boards are created in aluminum molds that recreate with 100% fidelity the Channel Islands Pod Mod .
