The Blobfish is a common name for four species of fish that live in the abyss, all in the family of Psychrolutidae: Psychrolutes marcidus, Psychrolutes phrictus, Psychrolutes microporos, and Psychrolutes occidentalis. P. marcidus, P. microporos, and P. occidentalis mainly live off the coasts of Australia and New Zealand, while P. phrictus mainly lives in the Bering Sea and off the coasts of Japan and California.
