The assault rifle is a long gun in The Last of Us and a purchasable in Factions MP. It also appears in The Last of Us: American Dreams. It is primarily carried by FEDRA soldiers as well as some Fireflies in Boston and Salt Lake City. The assault rifle has fully automatic fire. However, its spread increases drastically when doing so. As such, semi-automatic or burst firing is favorable, as it is more accurate and conserves ammunition. The assault rifle is used throughout the game by FEDRA soldier
